Out of love and passion of working with animals Bobby and Beni Holley began their professional  pet care career in 1976 when they opened the doors to their first grooming salon "The Groom Room".   The Groom Room was located on South Eisenhower Drive in the rear of The Nature Shop, a pet store that was established in the 1950's and was very well known  and frequented by  Beckley area animal lovers.  It was a small not too glamorous salon but served many faithful clients for several years before moving on to a new (photo above) more modern and larger building that was built next door to the Nature Shop.

In 1984, due to the expansion of Route 19 by the WV department of highways, the Nature Shop and the Groom Room were forced to close.  During this time they  were able to rebuild the business just a short distance from the original location and  expand the business  to include a boarding facility.
At that time the name was changed to Holley-day Kennels.
From that time twenty-one years ago until present, the Holley's and their great staff have had the pleasure of serving literally thousands of pets and their owners.
From 1997 to 2000, Beni and Bobby also owned and operated the WV Academy of Dog Grooming in Beaver, WV where they trained many students in the art of pet grooming.
In 2002, again, unfortunately the the Department of Transportation strikes again and forces the closing of  Holley-day Kennels to make way (again) for expansion with the construction of the East Beckley By Pass.

In October of  2000 the Beaver facility opened as Holley-day Grooming a full service grooming salon also offering pet photography.

Bobby and Beni have attended many National Grooming Seminars and training workshops.  Beni has competed in numerous grooming competitions.  In 1985 Beni was not only one of the first grooming professionals in West Virginia to become a Certified Master Groomer but one of the first in the country!  Today, Beni is one of a few West Virginian's and our areas only groomer to have this title.

In 2008 Bobby and Beni, after much thought and consideration decided to retire from the pet care business.   Beni accepted the opportunity to work as manager with music group Pianafiddle and Bobby and Beni are currently touring nationwide.
They are very happy and excited that Missy Schoolcraft has become the new owner of Holleyday Grooming.
